Jorgic finally claimed his first WTT Series title in his third attempt, dominating top seed Patrick Franziska in straight games (11-5, 11-9, 11-3, 11-7) with a commanding performance.
Facing his Bundesliga teammate from 1. FC Saarbrücken and close friend Patrick Franziska, this was a special final. In a departure from his usual style, Jorgic shifted to a forehand-dominated attack, mixing up spin and speed to keep Franziska guessing. His control extended to backhand rallies as well, where he consistently outplayed his opponent. Jorgic’s exceptional table coverage allowed him to control the tempo, moving Franziska from short forehand to deep backhand with pinpoint accuracy. This tactical adjustment left the top seed off-balance and struggling to establish any rhythm throughout the match.
Darko Jorgic after the match:
The feeling is amazing, and I'm just really happy to win the WTT Contender title for the first time. Twice I had the chance, but I lost in the finals. So I'm really super happy.
